I haven't been up to school all summer so I don't know where the progress on my room is at. This makes me nervous! I'm going up on the 25th of July to get some work done and hopefully be able to give my input on where the Smartboard is going to be placed.
For those of you who don't know the story of the room change, here it is:
For the past two years that I have been at NLS my room has been located in the "basement" of the school. (I say "basement" because there is still a flight of un-even stairs to go down to the Art room.) Doesn't sound too bad yet right?
About half way through my first year I finally asked what some of the bumps in the floor of my room were and why I had two doors. According to the students and my para the room used to be two bathrooms and after a little remodel it became a classroom. From what I understand this was done to accommodate the needs of the teacher that was there two years before I was, and is a HUGE improvement from what the Resource room was a LONG time ago. To make a long story short, this "remodel" of the bathrooms made for one small room. Take a look for yourself...I was in the back left corner of the room the door with the window is the 'front door' to my room.
I don't want to seem like I'm complaining. Ok, maybe I am just a little bit, but I am grateful that I will be in a new-to-me room this upcoming year! I will take pictures when I go up on the 25th to show the difference!
